Offshore projects pave the way for growth

The North Jutland producer of complete hydraulic solutions, Serman & Tipsmark, are now seeing positive results from their efforts with regard to the booming Norwegian and Scandinavian offshore markets, and in a sluggish Danish market there is no doubt that the decision to enter the Norwegian market in 2009 was the right one.

The reference list of successfully completed Norwegian offshore projects is growing continuously and with customers such as Aker Solutions, Rolls Royce and TechnipFMC there is no doubt that Serman & Tipsmark succeeds in meeting the very strict supplier requirements and specifications.

"We have some very specific competencies when it comes to hydraulic solutions and one of our core competencies is our ability to participate actively in the development process right from the embryonic beginnings and, at the same time, supply comprehensive documentation" , explains Mark van den Bosch, Export Sales Manager at Serman & Tipsmark.

Customer-specific solutions

Today, for example, the company supplies customer-specific hydraulic pump stations and complete test systems, all of which are subject to stringent specifications and safety requirements. The task of developing the solutions involves close cooperation with the customers and it is precisely in this area that Serman & Tipsmark score highly with them.

Serman & Tipsmark, that by the way celebrated its 20th anniversary in January 2014, is now also seeing growing potential in the domestic market where the offshore market includes Oil, Gas and the wind turbine industry. Here, the company has demonstrated its strengths in the development of various stress test tools as well as hoisting and positioning tools. "One of our absolute strengths is that our team is geared towards handling specific customer solutions and, at the same time, providing value-creating feedback during the development phase. As such Serman & Tipsmark is an attractive collaboration partner", Sales Manager for Denmark, Morten N. Nielsen eplains.

However, there is continued focus on the Danish industrial market which, over the last 6-8 months, has been showing promising signs. Consequently, Serman & Tipsmark has positive expectations for the rest of 2014.
