Large hydraulic system for ferry slip

Large hydraulic system for ferry slip

Our workshop is currently working on multiple projects which we are shipping out to places all around the world.

We are about to finish up a new turn-key hydraulic system for a marine customer in Hirtshals. The system is a complex hydraulic lift system for tow-story a Roll on – Roll off ramp. The upper ramp is 4.5 metres wide and the lower ramp is no less than 30 metres wide. Both ramps automatically follow the movements of the ferry using our advanced electric operation. Furthermore, the system also includes two passenger gangways, lights and gates, all of which are controlled with a remote.

Safety first
With 16 cylinders combined by both lift and lock functions, the safety of the system is first class. The ramp is operated by the 16 cylinders and should the hydraulic pressure, against all expectations, drop, a built-in hydraulic/mechanical lock system will prevent the ramp from dropping.

The pump room and the technique will be delivered in a container which is customised for the needs and the entire system can withstand wind and weather at its worst. Pipes and fittings are of stainless steel and the rest of the system has been surface treated to be suited for the saltwater environment.

The system will, as previously mentioned, the system will be delivered with two passenger gangway systems. These systems too follow the movement of the ferry and compensate for a change in weight when loading and unloading the ferry. The passenger gangways will be installed both in Hirtshals and in Kristiansand and will be delivered with an electrical enclosure and remote control.
