Custom-designed HPU for 20-foot container enables quick installation

For the Norwegian company Axtech, we recently manufactured a large Hydraulic Power Pack (HPU) to be used on board various vessels in the marine and offshore industry. The HPU delivers a total of approximately 950 l/min and 300 bar working pressure and is equipped with 3 power regulated pumps, 2500L stainless steel tank and separate water-cooled oil cooler.

The customer wanted a specially designed HPU that, despite the high power and volume requirements, could still be transported in a 20-foot container, enabling quick installation on board the vessel.

The HPU's task is to provide working hydraulics on the ship's ring line, to which various hydraulic tools/applications are connected. All pumps are assembled in one manifold with filtration and electronic pressure regulation so that no more pressure is produced than the ring line needs.
